마을의 특별한 역사
오성한옥마을의 역사는 정말 특별해요. 이 지역에는 유봉산성이 있는데, 일반적인 산성과 달리 태조의 어진(임금의 초상화)을 유사시에 보관하기 위해 만들어졌답니다. 전주에서 가장 가까우면서도 험준한 산인 유봉산에 산성을 쌓았고, 이 산성을 쌓기 위해 7개 군면에서 온 사람들이 7년 동안 석축을 쌓았어요. 이들이 정착하면서 마을이 형성되었다고 합니다.
BTS가 사랑한 마을
2019년에는 방탄소년단(BTS)이 이곳에서 일주일간 머물며 "BTS 2019 SUMMER PACKAGE" 뮤직비디오와 화보를 촬영했어요. 이후 국내외 많은 팬들이 방문하는 명소가 되었으며, 한 해에 약 70만 명에서 100만 명이 찾아오는 인기 관광지로 발돋움했답니다.

What is Oseong Hanok Village?
Nestled on the hillside of Mt. Wibong, Oseong Hanok Village got its name by taking one character each from 'Odori' and 'Oeseongri.' Surrounded by Mt. Jongnam and Mt. Wibong like a folding screen, this village features about 20 traditional hanok houses in a heavenly natural landscape.
After being designated as a hanok tourism resource district by Wanju County in 2012, it developed rapidly and was selected as one of Korea's Top 100 Tourist Destinations within just 1-3 years. It has also been selected for the 2025-2026 Korea Tourism 100, recognizing its value.
The Village's Special History
The history of Oseong Hanok Village is truly special. The area includes Wibong Fortress, which unlike typical fortresses, was built to store King Taejo's portrait in case of emergency. The fortress was built on Mt. Wibong, the closest yet most rugged mountain from Jeonju. People from seven different districts worked for seven years to build the stone walls. As they settled, the village was formed.
A Village Loved by BTS
In 2019, BTS stayed here for a week to film their "BTS 2019 SUMMER PACKAGE" music video and photo shoot. Since then, it has become a popular destination visited by many domestic and international fans, attracting about 700,000 to 1 million visitors annually.

1. Beautiful Hanok Stay
The village has a total of 37 hanok houses, with 3 renovated from existing buildings, 7 relocated, and 17 newly built. Houses operating hanok stays offer one room each as accommodation.
2. Cultural and Artistic Spaces
'Awon Gotaek' is a 250-year-old house that was relocated and now includes the modern Awon Gallery. 'Soyang Gotaek' has a cultural space called 'Flickr Bookstore,' and Os Gallery doubles as a café displaying artworks.

Each house in the village is situated near small and large streams, making it cool in summer and beautiful when snow falls in winter. To the left of the village is Oseong Reservoir, with walking paths where you can stroll while looking at the calm lake.
