오늘은 완주군 체류형 농업창업지원센터 입교식에 참여한 경험을 나누고자 합니다. 올해 1월 22일, 완주군 귀농귀촌협의회에서 개최한 '지역공동체와 함께하는 새해 맞이 신년회'부터 본격적으로 참여하기 시작했습니다.

바쁜 일상 속 귀농 준비

신년회 이후 회사 휴직과 이사 준비, 그리고 아이들의 학교 수료와 전학, 전입, 새로운 어린이집 등원 등으로 복잡하고 바쁜 나날을 보냈습니다. 정말 정신없이 시간이 흘러갔어요.

이사 준비는 생각보다 복잡했습니다. 새로운 주소로 이전하는 과정에서 필요한 각종 서류와 절차들을 하나하나 챙기느라 정신이 없었습니다. 특히 아이들의 학교와 어린이집 문제는 가장 신경 쓰이는 부분이었어요.

"완주에 오신 것을 환영합니다" - 입교식 현장

따뜻한 환영 문구가 적힌 현수막이 걸린 입교식장에 도착했을 때의 설렘이 아직도 생생합니다. 3월 5일, 완주군 귀농·귀촌 게스트하우스에서 열린 '제9기 체류형 농업창업지원센터 입교식'은 귀농귀촌을 꿈꾸는 저희 가족에게 새로운 시작을 알리는 중요한 행사였습니다.

입교식에는 귀농귀촌지원센터장과 상삼마을 이장님을 비롯한 지역 주민들이 참석하여 우리를 환영해주었습니다. 정용준 귀농귀촌지원센터장은 "귀농인들이 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 체계적인 귀농·귀촌 프로그램을 운영하고, 다양한 지원에도 최선을 다하겠다"고 말씀하셨어요.

이날 입교한 예비 귀농귀촌인들은 저희 가족을 포함해 총 10세대 19명이었습니다. 우리는 올해 12월까지 체류형 농업창업지원센터에서 생활하며 기초 영농교육과 다양한 영농체험 등 성공적인 귀농·귀촌을 위한 교육을 받게 됩니다.

체류형 농업창업지원센터란?

완주군 체류형 농업창업지원센터는 예비 귀농인들이 1년 동안 가족과 함께 거주하며 기초영농교육, 영농실습, 멘토링 맞춤형 컨설팅 및 실습지원 등의 귀농교육 200시간을 이수할 수 있는 교육시설입니다.

특히, 올해는 완주군 미래행복 실습농장 운영을 통해 예비 귀농인들에게 귀농에 필요한 기초지식 및 농업기술을 제공하고 생산에서 가공, 판매까지 전반적인 과정을 습득해 귀농인으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 도울 예정이라고 합니다.

새로운 인연의 시작

체류형 농업창업지원센터에서 새로운 사람들을 만나게 되었습니다. 각자의 삶의 궤적이 달랐는데 여기서 만나게 된 인연을 나누고 서로 마주하고 때론 의견도 나누고 부딪히며 친해지는 시간을 가지고 있는 중입니다.

무엇을 어떻게, 언제부터, 어느 것부터 해야 하는지 아무것도 모르는 상황에서 우왕좌왕 좌충우돌하면서 서로의 인연이 얽히고 이렇게 친해지는 맛이 재미있습니다.

완주군의 높은 귀농 정착률

완주군 체류형 농업창업지원센터는 정착률이 매우 높다는 점이 인상적입니다. 2024년 제8기 체류형 농업창업지원센터 입교생 10세대 중 8세대가 완주군에 정착했다고 합니다. 이는 80%의 높은 정착률을 보여주는 것으로, 완주군의 귀농귀촌 지원 프로그램이 얼마나 효과적인지 보여주는 지표라고 생각합니다.

서울에서 내려와 용진읍에 정착해 유기농 농사를 준비 중인 한 분은 "산이 좋아서 농촌을 선택했는데 같은 생각을 가진 인연을 만나고 네트워크를 쌓아 가는 과정이 즐거웠다"고 소감을 전했습니다. 경기도에서 체류형을 거쳐 화산면에 정착하게 된 다른 분은 "도시가 아닌 농촌에 살아보니 건강이 많이 좋아짐을 느낀다"며 "농촌의 따뜻함을 느끼게 해 준 군과 센터 관계자분들에게 고마움을 전하고 싶다"고 말씀하셨습니다.

완주군의 귀농귀촌 인기

완주군에 대한 귀농귀촌 관심이 매우 뜨겁다는 것을 체감할 수 있었습니다. 지난 4월 21일 완주군은 귀농귀촌지원센터가 진행한 올해 첫 교육이 정원의 2배가 넘는 신청자가 몰리며 성황리에 마무리됐다고 밝혔습니다. 25명이 정원이지만 무려 55명이 신청하면서 예정 인원의 2배가 넘는 높은 경쟁률을 기록했다고 합니다.

이번 교육은 지난 4월 18일부터 3일간 예비 귀농귀촌인을 대상으로 진행됐으며 귀농귀촌 정책 설명, 귀농귀촌 선도 농장 견학, 로컬푸드 직매장 및 가공센터 견학, 완주 문화탐방, 귀농귀촌 선배와의 간담회 등 다양한 귀농귀촌 프로그램으로 운영됐다고 합니다.

2025 Wanju Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center Entry Review - First Steps to Farming

Today, I'd like to share my experience with the Wanju-gun Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center entrance ceremony. It all started on January 22nd this year, when I began communicating in earnest at the "New Year's Meeting with the Local Community" hosted by the Wanju-gun Return to Farming and Rural Association.

Preparing for Farming Life Amid a Busy Schedule

After the New Year's meeting, I spent hectic days dealing with company leave of absence, moving preparations, and children's school completion, transfer, moving in, and enrollment in new daycare centers. Time really flew by in a whirlwind.

Moving preparations were more complicated than I thought. I was busy taking care of various documents and procedures needed for moving to a new address. The issue of children's schools and daycare centers was especially concerning.

"Welcome to Wanju" - The Entrance Ceremony

I still vividly remember the excitement when I arrived at the entrance ceremony venue with a banner that read "Welcome to Wanju." The "9th Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center Entrance Ceremony" held at the Wanju-gun Return to Farming and Rural Guest House on March 5th was an important event marking a new beginning for my family dreaming of returning to farming and rural life.

The head of the Return to Farming and Rural Support Center and local residents, including the head of Sangsam Village, attended the entrance ceremony to welcome us. Jung Yong-jun, the head of the Return to Farming and Rural Support Center, said, "We will operate systematic return to farming and rural programs and do our best to provide various support so that returnees to farming can settle stably."

A total of 10 households with 19 people, including my family, entered that day. We will live at the Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center until December this year, receiving basic farming education and various farming experiences for successful return to farming and rural life.

What is the Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center?

The Wanju-gun Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center is an educational facility where prospective farmers can live with their families for a year and complete 200 hours of farming education, including basic farming education, farming practice, mentoring customized consulting, and practice support.

Especially this year, through the operation of Wanju-gun's Future Happiness Practice Farm, they plan to provide prospective farmers with basic knowledge and agricultural techniques necessary for returning to farming, and help them establish themselves as farmers by learning the overall process from production to processing and sales.

Beginning of New Relationships

I met new people at the Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center. Although each of us had different life trajectories, we are now spending time getting to know each other, facing each other, sometimes sharing opinions and clashing, and becoming closer.

It's fun to get to know each other like this, with our relationships intertwining as we wander and struggle, not knowing what to do, how to do it, when to start, or where to start.

Wanju-gun's High Settlement Rate

The high settlement rate of the Wanju-gun Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center is impressive. Out of the 10 households that entered the 8th Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center in 2024, 8 households settled in Wanju-gun. This shows an 80% high settlement rate, which I think is an indicator of how effective Wanju-gun's return to farming and rural support programs are.

One person who came down from Seoul and settled in Yongjin-eup to prepare for organic farming said, "I chose the countryside because I liked the mountains, and it was enjoyable to meet people with the same thoughts and build networks." Another person who came from Gyeonggi-do through the stay-type center and settled in Hwasan-myeon said, "I feel that my health has improved a lot after living in the countryside, not the city," and "I want to express my gratitude to the county and center staff who made me feel the warmth of the countryside."

Popularity of Returning to Farming and Rural Life in Wanju-gun

I could feel that interest in returning to farming and rural life in Wanju-gun is very hot. On April 21st, Wanju-gun announced that the first education conducted by the Return to Farming and Rural Support Center this year was successfully completed with more than twice the capacity of applicants. Although the capacity was 25 people, as many as 55 people applied, recording a high competition rate of more than twice the expected number.

This education was conducted for prospective returnees to farming and rural areas for 3 days from April 18th, and was operated with various return to farming and rural programs such as explanation of return to farming and rural policies, tours of leading return to farming and rural farms, tours of local food direct sales stores and processing centers, Wanju cultural tours, and meetings with seniors who have returned to farming and rural areas.

Please note that household management costs (electricity, water, heating, internet installation and usage fees, etc.) are individually borne, and the entrance deposit is returned without interest after settling various utility bills upon contract expiration or withdrawal!

Conclusion

Life at the Wanju-gun Stay-type Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center is just the beginning, but I'm already feeling a lot. Above all, the most precious thing is the relationships with people who are heading towards the same dream.

The time ahead won't all be smooth sailing. More challenges and trials and errors await, but I think the true joy of farming life is growing together like this, with our relationships intertwined.

I sincerely hope that this journey at the Wanju-gun Agricultural Entrepreneurship Support Center will be a valuable experience for my family and everyone involved. The path of returning to farming that has just begun, where excitement and fear coexist, but I believe all these emotions will remain as beautiful memories later.
